Young children escape 'suspicious' house fire in Ulster

A FAMILY in Northern Ireland have luckily survived a house fire in their home.

The fire was deemed suspicious by the PSNI investigating at the time.

According to Belfast Telegraph, the fire broke out in the early hours of 3.45am in the Bangor, Co. Down area.

The house was reportedly situated in Killaire Wood Lane and the family were at home when the incident happened.

Fortunately, the family were rescued and sustained no injuries.

PSNI have appealed to witnesses with information: "Police and NIFRS attended and the fire was extinguished. Damage was caused to the back door of the property.

"Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact them in Bangor Police Station on 101 quoting reference number 240 of 20/04/18.

"Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
