Irishman in serious condition following fall in Australia

A YOUNG man from Donegal has been hospitalised with serious injuries after suffering a fall in Sydney, Australia.

Police found him lying on the road under the High Street overpass at North Sydney.

It is reported he may have fallen from the overpass or been a pedestrian on the road and was hit when attempted to cross.

Sydney Harbour Bridge was closed for a period of time following the incident.

The man is currently being treated for serious head injuries at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney.

Forensics were on the scene this morning.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance.
