Man, 30, killed in Clare car crash identified

THE MAN was a backseat passenger before injuries sustained in the crash claimed his life.

A MAN in his 30's who died in a car crash at Caherogan, near the town of Miltown Malbay in County Clare has been named Alan Rynne from Corrig.

Mr Rynne died after a car he and two others were travelling in crashed into a bridge.

The incident occurred at around 4.15am on Monday morning at Caherogan.

The driver of the car - a 28-year-old man - and a 25-year-old woman who was sitting in the front seat were taken to University Hospital Limerick.

Their injuries have been deemed as not life-threatening.

The road was closed off to facilitate an examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.

Gardaí­ have appealed to anyone who witnessed Monday’s collision to contact Miltown Malbay Garda station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
