Murder investigation launched after three die in New Year’s house fire

POLICE in England have launched a murder investigation following the death of three people in a house fire on New Year’s Day.

Emergency services were called to the house in Peartree Road, Kirton, Lincolnshire, at around 3am on January 1.

After initially believing one person had died in the fire, Lincolnshire Police today confirmed three people have now been found dead at the property.

They include two men, aged 32 and 24, and a 27-year-old woman.

Two people taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries have since been released.

A statement from Lincolnshire Police confirmed they are treating the incident as a domestic related murder investigation, but are not looking for anyone else as part of their inquiries.

“This is a tragic crime and our thoughts are with the family and friends of those involved,” said Supt Di Coulson.

“We are in contact with the families and will ensure that this is a thorough investigation as we try and understand what happened.”
